Acclaimed Home Warranty coverage details
To get a better idea of what comprehensive home warranty coverage truly looks like, our team surveyed 1,000 homeowners and asked which home systems and appliances were most valuable to them. Once the results were in, we took the responses and compared them to what each home warranty provider covers.
From our findings, we gathered that the top three appliances most important to a homeowner are the refrigerator, the oven/stove/range, and the clothes washer and dryer. The top three systems that hold the most importance are the electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning.
Refrigerator
If you’re in Texas or Arizona, you can get refrigerator coverage in the Premium and Ultimate Plans. For Utah residents, the Premium +, Premium + One, and Ultimate Plans have refrigerator protection. If you live in Nevada, the only plan that provides refrigerator coverage is the Ultimate Plan. This protection covers all of the mechanical components that affect the refrigerator’s operation. There isn’t a list of excluded parts, but the coverage cap is $1,500 per contract term.
Oven/range/stovetop
Ovens, ranges, and stovetops are covered in all of Acclaimed’s plans. The company doesn’t list any excluded parts, but the coverage cap is $1,000 per contract term.
Clothes washer and dryer
The only plan with washer and dryer coverage is the Ultimate Plan. All parts that help the machines run properly are included. The only limitation is the coverage cap of $1,500 per term.
Electrical
All of Acclaimed Home Warranty plans cover electrical systems. Wires, switches, fuses, plugs, panels, subpanels, junction boxes, conduit, exhaust fans, circuit breakers, and ceiling fans are included in coverage. Note: Acclaimed won’t pay more than $1,500 total for repairs and replacements to these components.
Plumbing
Plumbing insurance is included in all five of Acclaimed Home Warranty plans. Toilet tanks, bowls, and working mechanics; wax seals; drain line stoppages; electric or gas water heaters; tankless water heaters; tub and shower valves; diverter, angle/straight stop shut-off valves; gate/ball valves; built-in bathtub whirlpool motors and pumps; cartridges; permanently installed sump pumps; and leaks and breaks of lines are covered. There’s no coverage cap for plumbing.
Air conditioning
Air conditioning is protected under all Acclaimed plans. Coverage includes central air conditioning, electric wall air conditioning, electric water evaporative coolers, compressor, pumps, motors, condensers, evaporative coils, air handlers, thermostats, refrigerant lines, leaks or stoppages, wiring, breakers, fuses, disconnect boxes, valves, float assemblies, pulleys, and belts.
Coverage length
A plan with Acclaimed Home Warranty lasts for 12 months. Neither the website nor the sample contract specifies when coverage begins or what the renewal process looks like.
Coverage limits
Most of the items covered under an Acclaimed protection plan have coverage caps of $1,000. Some of them, like plumbing and heating, have no coverage caps, while others like the electrical system and refrigerator, have a higher coverage cap of $1,500. These caps are relatively low compared to competitors like Home Warranty Inc.
Acclaimed will not cover items that are not up to code or have not been properly maintained. No items with pre-existing conditions will be covered, meaning all of your systems must be working properly at the start of the contract term.
To read more about limitations, review the sample contract for Utah that can be downloaded from Acclaimed Home Warranty’s website.

Acclaimed Home Warranty is only available in Utah, Arizona, Nevada, and Texas. If you’re a resident of one of the other 46 states, visit our state home warranty page to find a provider in your state.
Our take
Acclaimed Home Warranty is a local home warranty company that serves four states, so only a small percentage of American residents would receive coverage.
While you can’t get refrigerator, washer, or dryer coverage in the most basic plan, you can still get coverage for all of the other major systems and appliances, and you have the option to purchase a more comprehensive plan for full coverage. The Standard Plan—the most basic option—is pretty affordable with pricing under $50 per month in all four states.
We found the variation of coverage across states confusing. If you’re not looking close enough, you may think that Nevada, Arizona, and Texas plans are all the same, but there are small differences between them. For example, disposal filters and central vacuums are included in Texas’ Standard Plan, and Arizona doesn’t have No Fault Coverage or the Premium Coverage Upgrade in any of its plans.
All in all, Acclaimed Home Warranty coverage provides protection for items not commonly found in home warranties, like grills and heat lamps. While the company has only five years in the home warranty industry, customers seem pleased with the service the company provides.

Final Thoughts: Is Acclaimed Home Warranty Good?
Today’s Homeowner gave Acclaimed Home Warranty a score of 3.5 out of 5 stars. We believe Acclaimed offers unique and comprehensive protection to customers, but its lack of nationwide availability and short time in business affected its overall score.
