Butt or Full Inset Hinges

Butt hinges attach to the inside of the frame and the edge of the door. When the cabinet door is closed, all you see is the knuckle and pin. Most require cutting shallow mortises into the cabinet and door, though no-mortise hinges are also available. Butt hinges give a lot of stability but are usually not self-closing.

Uses: Frameless or face frame cabinets with fully flush doors.
