Growing Herbs in Your Garden

Herbs are easy to grow in containers or a garden, and fresh herbs are a great way to spice up your cooking in the kitchen. Herbs to consider growing include rosemary, sage, basil, and mint. Growing herbs can also keep animals like deer away from your yard, due to their strong aromatic smell.

When growing herbs, you’ll need:

  • Lots of sun.
  • Good drainage to keep the soil from staying soggy.
  • Lean soil that isn’t packed with fertilizer.

  1. My wife’s perennial herbs have not been pruned other than harvesting. March 23 I them back to about 2 inches and my wife is very upset, says she has never done that and now expects limited growth. QUESTION: Am I headed for the doghouse? Am I in serious trouble? Thank you.

  2. I think you cut them too low they have to have foliage to grow back I think I heard the rule is only cut 50-75% off the plant or something leave some leafs so you get new ones lol you better get that doghouse ready
