Ceramic Tiles That Look Like Concrete

This 7-3/4 in. x 7-3/4 in. ceramic tile allows you to create a look that’s uniquely your own. The tiles draw inspiration from vintage artisan cement tiles to capture a sought after designer look, without the cost of the real thing. The matte glaze on these tiles makes them durable while helping them maintain the look of the original cement tile with a low sheen and slight variations in tone. The tiles are also frost resistant so they can be used both indoor and outdoor applications.

It is available at The Home Depot.

  1. I have torn out an old concrete patio that was raised on cinder blocks and filled in with gravel. The gravel remains and one level of the cinder blocks. I would like to make a new patio out of flat rocks, bricks and ceramic tile for a mosaic type look. I live in Indiana so we do have freezing and thawing of the ground. What would be the best material to use in between the rock/tiles ??

    • Hi, Michelle,

Danny says, “In order for it to be successful, it would need to be a very compatible material. Crushed stone is probably the best. It is available at the home centers by the bag. That would allow you to spread the crushed stone, compact it using a tamp, manual or motorized, to create a surface that will not shift and provide the surface that you need.”

      Good luck!
