Make Your Gnat Trap

To make your trap, use the exacto knife and cut off the top third of the two-liter bottle. In the bottom section of the bottle, pour about a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar. Then, squirt a couple of squirts of the liquid dish soap into the bottle with the vinegar.

Next, swirl the vinegar and soap mixture to mix the two. Once thoroughly mixed, take the top half of the bottle and place it on top of the bottom half of the bottle in an inverted way, resembling a funnel. After that, you’re done!

How the Gnat Trap Works

The trap is successful because the gnats are attracted to the apple cider vinegar. So, they fly into the bottle through the funnel and into the vinegar and soap mixture. But they get trapped by the soap and cannot find the small hole to escape.

So, if you’re ready for outdoor activities to stop being ruined by gnats, use this DIY gnat trap. It should work just as well as the best gnat traps on the market. Just set it out around the area you’ll be in and watch the magic happen.
