Sandra Malamed translates stories from history into unique appliqué quilts She seeks to create naïve works representing the everyday lives of simple people in late 17th and early 18th century America. Her goal is to produce work with great visual impact while employing the simplest, traditional methods and period appropriate design motifs. These narrative quilts are hand appliquéd, hand embroidered, and hand quilted without the employment of glues or adhesives.
