Home Cleaning

Cleaning

Cleaning probably isn’t your favorite task, but keeping your home well-maintained and comfortable is necessary. As a homeowner, you know that the cleaning to-do list can sometimes feel never-ending — and once you think it’s nearing completion, another mess will inevitably pop up.

Keeping Your Spaces Sparkling

Building a cleaning checklist is the best place to start if you need a little help tidying and sanitizing every nook and corner of your home. A cleaning list will help you organize your to-dos and turn an overwhelming task into a manageable part of your routine.

Here are some things throughout your home to add to your cleaning checklist:

Kitchen:

  • Stovetop
  • Oven interior
  • Range hood
  • Refrigerator interior
  • Stainless steel appliance exteriors
  • Microwave interior
  • Sink and garbage disposal
  • Countertops

Bathroom:

  • Toilet
  • Shower and bathtub
  • Shower curtain
  • Countertops
  • Drawer interiors
  • Grout

Bedroom and living areas:

  • Carpets
  • Rugs
  • Furniture surfaces
  • Windows and blinds
  • Bedding and linens
  • Upholstery
  • Floors

Laundry room:

  • Underneath your washing machine
  • Under the dryer
  • Countertops
  • Dryer drum
  • Lint trap

This list doesn’t include all of the cleanable spaces in your home, but it’s a great place to start. Your home won’t be perfectly tidy all the time, and that’s something all homeowners can understand. However, your baseline goal should be keeping the main areas sanitized and clear of hazards for a safer, healthier dwelling space. We suggest staying stocked up on washable cloths and your favorite disinfectant spray for quick and easy cleanup when unexpected messes occur.

Here are some additional tools to add to your cleaning supply closet:

  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Rubber gloves
  • Dust mop
  • Broom and dustpan
  • Bucket
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Toilet brush
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Glass cleaner
  • Bleach
  • Antibacterial wipes
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
