To match the existing heart pine flooring in the Kuppersmith Project house, we had new lumber milled from salvaged heart pine beams.

Even though pine is classified as a softwood, the natural resin and tight grain found in heart pine lumber make it much harder and more durable for flooring than the fast growing pine that is used for lumber today.

After the new heart pine floors in the addition have been sanded and finished, they’ll blend in perfectly with the original heart pine floors in the house.
