No matter how many power sanders you have, you occasionally need to hand sand, and you can make some sanding tools right at home for this purpose.

First, start with a piece of sandpaper and spray the back of it with adhesive. Then take a paint stick, place it down into the adhesive and trim the excess sandpaper with a utility knife.

Now repeat the process with a piece of PVC pipe. Roll the PVC pipe across the back of the sandpaper and trim it off.

The paint stick is great for flat surfaces and the pipe is excellent for inside curves or contours.
