One of the more popular styles these days for wood furniture and accessories is to make them from weathered wood.

Weathered wood takes on a grayish look that’s difficult to replicate, until now!

Varathane has put that natural aging process in a can with its Charred Wood Accelerator. It creates a weathered, aged look in minutes on bare or untreated wood.

It replicates the aging process that happens in nature by reacting with tannins in the wood to create a one-of-a-kind aged gray look.

Like the natural aging process, the final look of wood varies depending on the type of wood. You simply apply it with a synthetic or foam brush and let it penetrate the wood to create the desired effect.

Allow it to sit on wood anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour, depending on how light or dark you want the effect to be.

Once it’s dry, apply a lacquer topcoat to seal and protect the surface.
