Cutting Coped Joints

Here are two tips for cutting tight-fitting coped joints in wood moldings. First, after trimming the molding to 45º, rub a pencil along the edge of the profile to highlight the cut line. Use a coping saw to make the coped cut, then smooth the cut with wooden dowels wrapped in 100-grit sandpaper.
