Unless you have a newer home with those fancy, double hung, tilting sash windows, you know that getting the outside of second story windows clean is a real chore; but it doesn’t have to be. Put that extension ladder away and make a quick trip to the home center.
For a few dollars you can buy a ten-foot long piece of PVC pipe and a window washing squeegee. The squeegee is obvious enough, but the PVC is what will make the second story more accessible.
Insert the handle of the squeegee into one end of the pipe, three or four inches, and drill a small hole through the pipe and the handle. Then run a bolt through the hole, and secure it with a nut.
With a ten-foot handle on your squeegee, those windows are well within reach.
