concrete countertop

The success of a concrete countertop project depends on following a good process.

  1. Create the forms from a smooth, nonporous material like melamine.
  2. Provide ample support with rebar and reinforcement wire.
  3. Coat the forms with a lubricant, so they will release easily.
  4. Use a concrete mix designed specifically for countertops. The added plasticizers will make the mixture flow well with less water, and the formula minimizes shrinkage.
