888-ss-repair-damaged-porch-railing

You’ve heard the expression: “The dog ate my homework”? Well, in this case, some puppies chewed this porch railing. To repair the damaged wood, first I created two plywood forms and clamped them on the top and bottom of the rail. Then, using a plastic putty knife, I applied auto body filler to the front of the rail.

  1. I have an old house with anchor weight windows and asbestos tile siding. Some of my outside window frames on the bottom board are crumbling. I’m afraid to pull them out and replace because of the asbestos tiles, and the wood putty doesn’t seem to hold up.
My question is, would auto body primer work in this situation?
