If you buy quality paintbrushes and store them properly, they will last a long time. Here’s how to clean and store the paintbrushes in your home:

  1. Clean with warm soapy water after each use and allow to dry.
  2. Follow this by running a brush comb through the bristles to remove any dried paint chips.
  3. Wrap the brush in brown craft paper, fold the end over and secure it with a rubber band to the metal ferrule on the brush.
  4. Or store the brush in the cardboard sleeve that came with it.\
