Hanging shelves can be an ordeal, but rather than screw them directly to the wall, use the keyhole slots mounted on the back of each bracket.
Of course, that’s easier said than done. The challenge of using keyhole slots is the screws have to be precisely spaced apart from center to center and be level.
Start by taking a level and putting two pieces of tape on two small strips. Line them up with the center of the slot, and mark the very center of each slot on the tape itself.
Now, you will have the exact spacing in the slots. We’re almost ready to hang these shelves, but there are just a few more steps.
Go back to the wall and adjust the level so the bubble is right in the center. Once it’s level, transfer the marks on the tape onto the walls.
There should be one small vertical line at each end of the level and a line right across the top of the level.
After completing these steps, you should have the perfect spacing to attach the shelves to the wall.
Now, all you have to do is drive screws into those marks and hang your level shelves.
