Jodi Marks: You know, whether you’re doing a kitchen project or a bathroom project, chances are you’re going to have to use caulk in one of those applications of your project. Now, you can see I’ve got a ton of different caulking options to choose from. You can either get an acrylic caulk or you can get a silicone caulk. And I want to talk to you about a really good silicone one.

Now this is by GE, it’s the Silicone II Supreme. This is perfect for your kitchen, for your bath or also other plumbing applications. Now, the problem with using silicone caulk is that you do have to wait for it to dry. And that could take up to 24 hours before you can use that particular fixture—until now!

Take a look at this. It’s got “1-hour shower ready” right on the label. So that means after one hour you can let it come in contact with water and you’ll be fine. Now, of course, using silicone, you’re going to get that 100% waterproof. It’s not going to shrink, and it’s not going to crack. And also it’s going to stay mildew and mold-free for up to 10 years.

So, if you’re in the market for doing a project in the kitchen or the bath you certainly need to keep this in mind.
