Here’s a simple way to add accent lighting in your kitchen, and the best part is you don’t even have to call an electrician.

For a nice, warm glow, just use two strands of LED battery-powered lights on top of the kitchen cabinets.

LEDs are inexpensive and you can purchase them at any home and garden center.

Just place one strand of LEDs along the wall and the other strand behind the crown molding.

And don’t worry — you won’t have to climb a ladder to turn them off and on. These are on a 6-hour timer, so they turn themselves on and off each evening.

  1. Awesome idea but then don’t you have to climb up a ladder every time you want to turn them on? The battery powered lights I have will shut off with the timer, but not back on. If there is such a thing, please provide a link. Thanks!

  2. Do these lights have the timers ‘on’ them? If they are battery operated, how do put them on a timer? Where can you find this type? (battery operated/timed)?

    Thank you!!

  3. I was wondering how long the batteries will last with these lights? I saw one set that said the battery only lasts 30 days.

    • Hi, Diane! Battery performance varies with the product and use.
Your best bet is to browse various LED string lights online and check customers’ reviews.
It’s always good to make an informed decision! Good luck. 🙂
