At first glance, Ryobi’s whole stud detector looks like a camera, and it gives you a snapshot of what’s going on behind the drywall. As you scan it over the surface, sensors determine the thickness of the drywall and whether it is scanning over metal, wood or electrical wiring. Multiple LEDs allow you to see the width of the entire stud and not just the edge or center.
