Allen Lyle installing DIY closet storage and shelving.
Shelving for the closet was made from 3/4” thick x 16” wide stock and supported by 1”x 2” cleats attached to the studs in the walls. A vertical piece in the center provided support and divided the closet in two, with one side for hanging clothes and the other for storage.

Can I get the dimension for the closet, the size of the left side shelving pieces, and the dimensions of the middle vertical piece?
Hi, Michael,
Thanks for your interest in the products used for this episode.
This article is nine years old, so, unfortunately, we no longer have that information.
Take care!
Using a nail gun to tack the cleats into place is fine, but that’s not going to support much weight. Make sure you screw the cleats into studs as well if you’re putting anything on those shelves.

What kind of wood did you use for the shelves and where did you buy them?
