PITCHBLUE CONTENT OPTIONS
Your station will be able to use either the Magnubox provided by PitchBlue or an HD IRD that supports MPEG-4 and DVB S2 8PSK to downlink these feeds.
For stations that require SD content, the PitchBlue server allows you to down-convert the HD file to SD. Listed below are the HD and SD content options on how to retrieve shows.
There are several methods for your station to receive and prepare content via PitchBlue.
- HD or SD Playout of the program via SDI to an external device for ingest. Essentially the same as recording from an IRD, but with the added benefit of playback control, either manually or using Industry standard Video Disk Control Protocol (VDCP) to cue and play frame accurately.
- Transfer standard definition MPEG-2 files. The PitchBlue server can generate MPEG-2 files for compatibility with your existing MPEG-2 file workflow. Files are transferred using FTP.
- Transfer HD and SD MPEG-4 files. Files are transferred using FTP. This is recommended for external transcoding systems and supporting video servers.
- Dubbing to tape. Simple playback of the program via SDI can be initiated using the web interface, suitable for dubbing to tape.
Should you need assistance in setting up one of these options or if your station is not able to use PitchBlue for any reason, please contact the PitchBlue Support Center 866-437-BLUE (2583) or www.managedlinearsupport.com.
For any other questions, please contact Shannon Hobbs at 818.526.3359 or via e-mail shannon.hobbs@bydeluxe.com.
