  1. Can you tell me where you purchased the boxwoods shrubs for this project. They look great and I would like to purchase some for our home.

    Thank you,

    John King

    • Hi John,
The plantings for the Kuppersmith Project house were handled by Garden Design Solutions Incorporated (GDSI) located in Fairhope, AL. Their phone number is (251) 929-0702 should you want to ask them where the boxwoods or other plants were purchased.
      Thank you for your interest!

  2. Where can I find the Liquid Wood you used on the front porch
posts that were original to the house and had some rotting on them? Thank you.

  3. Danny,

I have watched the recent Kuppersmith episodes and I am puzzled by something I wanted to inquire about. Your project highlights many new technologies including many green items. However I was dissapointed that the home did not include the installation of a residential fire sprinkler system. I have heard in addition to putting out fires that sprinklers are a “green” technology. I have also been told that that many building codes will not require them in single family homes.

I ask about the sprinklers because I recently saw another host on a home improvment show install sprinklers in his own home. I also heard that sprinklers are now being installed in homes on “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”.

Please explain your choice as I am considering a retro-fit in my home remodel.

  4. You mentioned a “green” carpet manufactured from recycled plastic bottles. I’ve looked on-line for a source reference but can’t find one. Please provide the manufacturer of this new carpet? I am interested in it’s stain resistent feature.

    Thanks, Kim Hawes

  5. I’m interested in the material used as the exterior ceiling of the walkway between the house and garage. I’ve been to several flooring stores and no one seems to know of a tongue & groove exterior wood plank material. I’d like to replace the ceiling of my porch with this wood/wood like material v/s vinyl… it actual wood or a composite that was used on this project? thanks.

    • Hi Tammy,
We used solid cypress tongue and groove lumber with a V-groove cut edge for the porch ceiling on the Kuppersmith Project house. You can find out more at our video Advantages of Cypress Wood, including a link to the Southern Cypress Manufacturers Association website, who should be able to put you in touch with a dealer in your area.

  6. At the end of episode 10 Danny mentioned wind generated AC power for individual homes. These were low profile 8’tall x 6′ dia. and able to run at low RPM and still provide power. The estimated cost was around $4,000/$5,000. I didn’t hear of see any more ref. to a specific product line. Can you provide that please? Thank you.

  7. On an episode you showed ceiling radiant heat. I could not find reference to this anywhere on your sight. What is the make and where did yo purchase the product ?
    Thank you

    • Hi Willis,
I don’t know of an episode of Today’s Homeowner that discussed ceiling radiant heat. Thank you for your interest.

  8. We’re installing a new-growth heart pine wide-plank floor and were wondering about the stain and finishing used on the flooring? thanx! mv

  9. I just watched the last episode. The house is absolutely stunning. The details are so well thought out. Please tell me where you purchased the family room furniture and rug. I just love the soothing tones in that room. Thank you so much and I am a huge fan of your show.

  10. I love the living room and would appreciate if you would let me know where you purchased the couch, plaid chair and what colors (color numbers) you utilized on wall?

    Thank you so much!!

  11. hello! I was watching the last episode at the finish of the Kuppersmith project house and I saw a beautiful, blue bowl sitting on the table, it was in the room off of the sunroom near the close of the show. It was a light blue color and the color looked like it would match my kitchen perfectly. Do you have any more information on what this could be?

  12. I have enjoyed each of the episodes for this renovation. I especially like the area rug in the family room. Where can it be purchased?

  13. On episode 4 you showed a brick sample board. What is the name of the manufacturer and style? It matches our 1915 home exactly! We desperately need some for repairs we will be doing. Thanks.

  14. I am interested in the material used in the bathroom. It looked like tile, but was installed as a solid sheet of manufactured material. I think it was from a company called Denova but I can’t find any information on Danny’s website about the material or the company. Any information would be appreciated.

  15. I have the August 2011 and September 2011 copies of Better Home & Gardens magazine, but do not fine the article on the Kuppersmith Project. Is this the wrong magazine? Also, how do you select which questions to answer? I sent an inquiry on 5/1/11, but never received an answer but yet several emails after me got a response. Very disappointing.

    • Hi Katherine,
The article on the Kuppersmith Project was on page 60-69 in the August issue of Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Since Better Homes & Gardens provided all the furnishings for the house, I don’t know who made the rug you inquired about. The resource guide in the back of the August issue lists many of the furnishing, but not those in the family room. Your best bet would be to try contacting the Better Homes &Gardens designers directly at
      Thanks for your interest!

    • Hi PJ,
The cabinets near the door in the living room were made by Merillat cabinets. Thank you for your interest!

  16. I watched your video on picking out the stain for the exterior cypress. We are building a new home using cypress as our exterior wood, and we are struggling with the stain. I am interested in the stain colors, sealer, etc. that was used. We need this information asap, since we are now on the deadline for this phase of the home build. THANKS!
