Note: In July 2024, SunPower notified dealers it would be halting all new shipments and project installations. The company also noted it would “no longer be supporting new Leases and PPA sales nor new project installations of these financing options.”
Goldin Solar’s panels are designed for all weather conditions, including intense rain and winds. The company’s engineering process takes sun hours and weather into consideration, allowing you to produce more solar energy during sunny days.
The company also provides the option to buy solar systems on a finance scheme. This allows customers to buy panels without putting down a deposit while monthly outgoings are that or less than their current electricity bills.

The tabs below cover Goldin Solar’s high-level pros and cons. Keep these points in mind as you read the rest of the review.
Solar Services & Cost
Here’s an outline of the process from ordering to installing solar panels in your home.
- Design creation: The best step is for the project manager to design the right solar panels for your property. During this stage, they use industry-standard solar engineering software where the software simulates weather and annual and monthly energy creation.
- Engineering and permits: The engineering phase allows an expert team to create detailed plans based on a design. These plans are then reviewed and certified by a professional engineer and submitted for permitting.
- Installation: It’s now time for your solar panels to be installed. The installation team will use hardware, inverters, and mounting to match the design and engineer team’s outlook perfectly. Learn about the best time to have solar panels installed.
- Monitoring and analysis: It’s important that Goldin Solar’s technicians monitor how each individual panel and the entire system performs to provide a solution for any mishaps.
How Much Does Goldin Solar Cost?
The cost of the solar panels plus installation varies between $16,850 and $28,083. The Tesla Powerwall solar batteries cost between $8,500 and $10,500 each, and some properties might require multiple batteries.

Warranty
This solar company provides a 25-year product warranty along with a 25-year power production guarantee. Their product warranty protects you against defects in the solar panels that would otherwise impact their working order.
Additionally, the power production warranty ensures your solar panels provide the minimum amount of wattage stated upon signup for their entire service life. This warranty ensures that the panels won’t degrade during their lifetime. Also, this warranty ensures that your solar panels provide at least 98% of 335 watts (their nominal power) throughout the first year.
Financing Plans & Options
Goldin Solar provides cash and finance options to help you switch to clean energy. A cash purchase involved a higher upfront cost, but it’s cheaper overall because you won’t have to pay any interest or fees on your solar installation.
Alternatively, a finance system allows you to install solar panels with a 0% deposit followed by monthly payments. These payments will be lower than the electric bills you’re replacing. However, you’ll be required to pay an interest fee on this finance to cover the cost of the loan.
Specials or Incentives Offered
The only incentive that Goldin Solar’s website states is the federal investment tax credit, which, as of August 2022, is a 30% deduction from your tax bill. Additionally, Florida solar panels are all exempt from property tax and sales tax.
In-House or Contracted Installations
Goldin Solar installs the solar panels themselves with an excellent team of electricians and a project manager.
What Solar Panels Does Goldin Solar Use?
Goldin Solar uses Hanwha Q Cell solar panels. These provide excellent efficiency, even in low light conditions. Their Hanwha Q Cell solar panels can withstand winds up to 175 mph and lift ratings of 4,000 Pa.
Furthermore, there are two types of Hanwha Q Cell panels available: G5 and G6. The G5 panels have silver rails and are 325 watts. They’re covered by the 25-year power production guarantee and include a 12-year product warranty.
Alternatively, the G6 solar panels, which are the company’s newest arrival, have a rating of 335 watts and are manufactured in Georgia with solar energy. They come with a 25-year product warranty and a 25-year power production warranty.
Partnerships
This solar power company refers to having partners on their website, but the specifics aren’t clarified: “Thus homeowners, commercial building owners, and our business partners have the ability to show off photos of the beautiful aesthetic that is solar PV energy, and clean energy continues to grow”.
Service Area & Availability
Goldin Solar only operates in Florida at this time with offices in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Vero Beach, and Orlando.

Today’s Homeowner’s Solar Ranking and Review Methodology
At Today’s Homeowner, transparency and trust are our most important values for the reader. That’s why we took the time to create an objective rating system and score each solar energy company/service according to our methodology.
Our research team dug deep into the fine print of contracts, combed through more than one hundred customer reviews, and thoroughly investigated all of each solar energy company’s services, costs, and products. We’ve done the homework for you by researching nearly all of the solar energy companies on the market so you can have the information you need to make the best choice for your home.
We developed a formula to objectively determine the best solar energy companies and give each a score out of 100 based on the following criteria:
- Plan Options (30): Do they provide a variety of plan options? We looked at the number of plans each solar energy company offered and the flexibility of adjusting the plan.
- Services offered (20): How many services are offered in each plan? We looked at whether the company manufactures its own solar panels, whether it contracts out installation, and what additional products each company offers.
- Trust (10): What do customers say after their solar panels are installed? Does this company offer a guarantee? We considered how satisfied customers are post-service if the company does what it says it will, BBB accreditation, and service guarantees.
- Prices (10): How reasonable are the costs of the plan or service in comparison to the industry average? We compared the costs of each company to competitors that offer the same solar energy services.
- Unique perks (10): Does the company offer discounts or special services such as financial incentives, rebates, or a useful mobile app? We looked for extras each company offers that set them apart from the competition.
- Customer Service (10): How is the customer experience when contacting the company? We considered the speed of response, weekend/holiday availability, and ease of communication through phone calls, email, and online chat functions.
- Nationwide availability (10): How many states does the company offer its services? Companies that operate nationally and in all zip codes are favored over those with limited availability.
