ADT Solar utilizes Enphase MyEnlighten, which allows every system owner to track their energy production at any time of the day and night. You can even share this data with your friends and family via the mobile-friendly interface.
How Much Does ADT Solar cost?
$22,000–$33,000, on average. Read an in-depth look into solar panel cost.
Warranty
ADT Solar provides a 25-year warranty, unlike most product warranties that only last for 10 years. This solar provider states that if your new solar panel system doesn’t produce the amount of energy that’s been guaranteed, you’ll receive a cash difference.
This 25-year warranty includes the following:
- Labor guarantee: This is a promise that your home solar panel system will be installed without damaging the system itself or your home.
- Power production guarantee: The solar system will produce the amount of power advertised in your initial solar proposal.
- Panel module guarantee: Your solar panels will remain intact and in working order.
- Enhpase microinverter guarantee: The microinverters will function without any error.
Financing Plans & Options
This solar company offers many finance options through a free solar consultation from a member of ADT Solar. Their finance options (known as a Power Purchase Agreement [PPA]) are available as:
- Solar purchase
- Solar lease/PPA
- Solar loan
Solar Purchase
The quickest and easiest way to obtain solar power is to install the panels yourself, helping you to save money in overall costs. Considering a solar purchase provides you with immediate advantages from a lower electric bill, rebates, and solar tax credits. In fact, purchasing your solar panels outright requires fewer third-party conditions for you to apply to and worry about.

For the United States, the usual payback period for solar systems is four to eight years, though this depends on the equipment required and the size and variety of solar panels.
Solar Lease/PPA
When you lease solar panels, you’ll apply for a PPA where you then agree to monthly payments. This condition means that you won’t ever own the solar system, even though it can be installed on your home.
When applying for a solar lease/PPA, bear in mind that you won’t receive any dedication from the Solar Investment Tax Credit, as you need to own your system to receive a federal tax credit.
With that being said, a solar lease/PPA has many benefits to it, such as lower upfront costs. Plus, the leasing company will be liable for maintaining the solar system.
Solar Loan
A solar loan is used towards the upfront costs of purchasing a solar panel system for your property. This loan helps to prevent any hefty upfront payments while providing you with full ownership.
Similar to a general loan, you’ll make monthly payments along with an interest rate. As you’ll be the owner of the solar system, you’re eligible for benefits and incentives like rebates and tax credits.
Specials or Incentives Offered
At the time of writing this article, ADT Solar and the U.S. government offer the following incentives:
Federal Solar Tax Credit
Also referred to as the Solar Investment Tax Credit, the U.S. government will provide a 30% tax credit of the total cost of your solar panel to your federal taxes. This incentive is applicable to both business owners and homeowners.
Property Tax Exemptions for Solar
This incentive is ideal if you’re interested in how a solar panel system will affect the overall value of your property. In particular, a solar system can add value to your home, but it’s exempt from property tax for half a decade, so you won’t be penalized.
Solar Sales Tax Exemptions
Some U.S. states can receive a tax exemption on the total cost of a solar panel system. This is great if you’re concerned about the cost of installing solar panels, as a state sales tax exemption can reduce your overall upfront cost.
Solar Panel Rebates
There are some U.S. state utility companies that can make switching to solar energy simple, including the cost and hassle involved.
Solar Renewable Energy Certifications
There are some U.S. states that offer Solar Renewable Energy Certificates to reward people for switching to renewable energy. For example, for every kWh of solar energy your system produces, you’ll receive 1 SREC.
Net Metering
This incentive allows you to sell any excess electricity that you don’t use from your solar panels back to your specific utility company to reduce your energy costs in the future. Your utility company will apply credit to your account for any electricity that you send to them, helping to reduce your monthly outgoings.

Solar Rights Laws
Some homeowners are concerned about the solar restrictions associated with installing a new PV system. Fortunately, Solar Rights laws can protect your property and individual homeowners from accessing solar energy. These laws will support your decision to make an investment to switch to renewable, clean energy.
Solar Easement Laws
Some U.S. states make sure that your solar panels can obtain solar energy without any restrictions or interference. For example, these easement laws prevent homeowner associations from stopping your solar panel installation.

This app makes it easier to earn some extra money by referring ADT Solar to your friends. Earn $1,000 for every referral you make with ADT Solar, and receive $500 extra if the new referrals consider a new roof.

ADT Solar Reviews From Actual Customers
Customer reviews are an excellent way to obtain some honest feedback about a solar company.
Here are some actual reviews from past/current customers.
“This is truly a great company with a bright future. They have just started in CA, and things are looking great for them day after day. The attitude is very positive, and everyone follows the CEO’s lead and is committed to great service and great products. The managers and sales reps all take ownership and give 100% every day. I highly recommend them not only for their solar but also if you’re looking for a career. Great training and a lot of fun people to be around.
I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from everyone. I like to thank Shawn Rahi, Alfredo Bustanegro and Vincente Nazario for all their help and support and wish the SunPro family great success. Take care and will miss everyone. God Bless”.

“My experience with Sun Pro is this: the company only uses a recorded line. When they called me after I responded to an online ad, I was immediately informed that this was a recorded line. I was asked at least four different times if I owned the home during that conversation. I felt as if I were on trial.
On the day of the appointment, I got a courtesy call to confirm our appointment, and it was a recorded line. “It’s for quality assurance,” was the response. (It’s not for MY assurance!) When I called the office to cancel my appointment (I can’t trust a company that needs to record my every word) the automated message made sure I knew it was a recorded line. They recorded my cancellation. It’s the last word they’ll ever hear from me! Court systems are less intimidating”.
Deeg S.
“Five years later and we keep getting checks from Southern California Edison every year for the excess energy we put onto the grid. In 2014, we bought an EV, and it has only ever been charged at home. Despite that, we are still getting checks, one per year, from SoCalEd.
This year it was $81, not a lot of money but much better than paying $1,000 to $1,300 per month. By my calculations, we have now broken even, and the next 15 to 20 years we’ll just be getting free energy from the Sun, and possibly checks from the electric company.
In over 5 years we have never had a single instance of anything not working. 100% uptime, except for SoCalEd power failures when the system shuts down as designed to protect linemen doing repairs”.

Today's Homeowner’s Solar Companies Rating Methodology
At Today's Homeowner, transparency and trust are our most important values for the reader. That’s why we took the time to create an objective rating system and score each solar energy company/service according to our methodology.
Our research team dug deep into the fine print of contracts, combed through more than one hundred customer reviews, and thoroughly investigated all of each solar energy company’s services, costs, and products. We’ve done the homework for you by researching nearly all of the solar energy companies on the market so you can have the information you need to make the best solar choice for your home.
We developed a formula to objectively determine the best solar energy companies and give each a score out of 100 based on the following criteria:
- Plan Options (30): Do they provide a variety of plan options? We looked at the number of plans each solar energy company offered and the flexibility of adjusting the plan.
- Services offered (20): How many services are offered in each plan? We looked at whether the company manufactures its own solar panels, whether it contracts out installation, and what additional products each company offers.
- Trust (10): What do customers say after their solar panels are installed? Does this company offer a guarantee? We considered how satisfied customers are post-service if the company does what it says it will, BBB accreditation, and service guarantees.
- Prices (10): How reasonable are the costs of the plan or service in comparison to the industry average? We compared the costs of each company to competitors that offer the same solar energy services.
- Unique perks (10): Does the company offer discounts or special services such as financial incentives, rebates, or a useful mobile app? We looked for extras each company offers that set them apart from the competition.
- Customer Service (10): How is the customer experience when contacting the company? We considered the speed of response, weekend/holiday availability, and ease of communication through phone calls, email, and online chat functions.
- Nationwide availability (10): How many states does the company offer its services? Companies that operate nationally and in all zip codes are favored over those with limited availability.
