Simple Solutions

Reusing Rubber Gloves — Before discarding used latex gloves, snip off any fingers that aren’t too badly damaged or dirty, and use them as slip-on fingertip protectors when spreading glue or smoothing caulk.

Paste Wax Pad – To apply an even, controlled amount of paste wax to wood furniture, try this trick: Cut a double-layer of cheesecloth to about 10 in. sq.
Then, place into the middle of the cheesecloth a dollop of paste wax about the size of a golf ball.
Gather up the edges of the cloth and secure together with a twist-tie or length of string.
Now rub the tied-up ball of wax against the wood’s surface in a circular motion to flatten it out into a pad.
Continue rubbing until the wax saturates the cloth.
Now use it to apply wax to any wood surface.
