How to Paint Santa and Make Him New Again

Whether your outdoor holiday decorations include a Nativity scene, a tiny sleigh and eight reindeer, or Santa himself; you may start to notice those plastic pieces just aren’t as bright and cheerful as they used to be.

Putting a fresh coat of paint on them is easier than you may think. Clean the items thoroughly to remove any dirt, dust, mold, or mildew; then lightly sand them with 400-grit sandpaper. Wipe them off, then use a spray paint formulated for plastic to coat the most prominent colors.

For the detail work, spray a generous portion of paint onto a paper plate. Now you can use an artist’s brush to fill-in all the added details.

In no time at all, your yard décor is back to good as new condition and ready for the festivities of the season.
