Danny and Joe welcome callers’ questions each week on the Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.
Here’s a question from our Dec. 1 broadcast:
Cindy from Massachusetts says, “I recently purchased a mobile home which has a gas heat and air conditioning system that uses both the duct system in the home. And of course, it is on the floor. I recently replaced all of the top grates in all of the rooms but noticed a smell coming from certain grates on the floor.
“I have tried bleach, I have tried vacuuming them out, which I noticed there’s fiberglass insulation, so I had to be careful vacuuming. I have also tried pet stain and odor, and my last try was CLR mold and mildew from axing stain remover bleach free.
“It seems to be a little better but I just want to know what I can do in the future. I am considering having someone clean the duck work out and sanitize it. But it comes with a price tag. Do you have any advice as to what I should do next?”
