Label Removal

I recently bought a new grill and couldn’t wait to get it home and put it together. But as soon I got it out of the box, my excitement was dulled a bit because there were stickers plastered all over the stainless steel lid.

These things are a pain to remove anytime, but they’re especially hard to get off of raw metal like stainless steel or aluminum without leaving a sticky mess.

To speed things up, I decided to try a little heat to move the process along and it worked. I used a heat gun, but a good hair dryer should also do the trick.

Heating the whole sticker makes the adhesive that secures it a lot more flexible. Once you peel up an edge, you can apply more heat to the underside and slowly peel away the whole sticker without leaving a gooey mess.
