Danny and Joe welcome callers’ questions each week on the Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.

Here’s a question from our Jan. 25 broadcast:

Stuart has noticed mold appearing throughout the home. He wants to know where it may be coming from and how to prevent the fungus from showing its ugly face.

We suggest using hygrometer to measure the amount of humidity in the air. That’s the first step.

If you do have a humidity problem, go ahead and install a cover for the attic stairs to help insulate from above. This will drastically prevent moist air from migrating into the attic.

In addition, it’s important to caulk any gaps around air conditioner registers. The goal is to stop inside air from entering the attic.
