How to repair hardwood floors after water damage.

Danny and Joe welcome callers’ questions each week on the Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.

Here’s a question from our Nov. 2 broadcast:

Kiel in North Carolina wants to know what to do after water damage began causing his hardwood floors to cup.

First of all, Kiel is on the right track to rejuvenating those hardwood floors. He has a hygrometer to keep track of the humidity and he quickly used a shop-vac to eliminate the water that caused the damage in the first place.

He has a dehumidifier upstairs – he should have it sitting at 45% to get the humidity down as far as possible.
