Some pets seem to shed fur at unbelievable rates so keeping the house clean is a challenge. Sweeping up dog or cat hair from hard surfaces is easy enough. But that fine fur seems to bond itself to fabrics like a magnet. That means removing it from carpets and upholstered furniture is nearly impossible…. Until now. Rather than trying to vacuum up the unwanted pet hair, try rubbing it off. On carpets try dragging a rubber window squeegee across the surface in one direction. The friction and static generated cause the fur to pull free from the carpet fibers and bundle up into a ball, which you can collect and throw away. The same principle works with tightly fitting rubber gloves on upholstered furniture. Simply drag your gloved hands over the cushions to collect the pet hair into one spot so you can dispose of it.
