Many homes have a concrete porch in the front or back of the house. Be honest, though, it’s pretty bland and boring, isn’t it? One way to help that porch make a statement is to install tile on top of it. But, since the porch is exposed to the weather, you want to make sure and use the right material.
Tiles like slate and ceramic may look nice, but they can absorb moisture, causing the tiles to crack or pop loose. One of the best materials to use is porcelain because it’s non-porous and is a very high density type tile. It also comes in a variety of colors and patterns to suit your individual taste.
Be sure to repair any gaps, holes, or cracks in the concrete prior to installing. Once the tiles are in place and grouted, wait a week and then seal the grout for a long lasting and very impressive porch.
