Here’s a question from our 6/22/2019 Today’s Homeowner Radio Show.
Jason from Alabama says, “Should there be a plant/shrub growing over my septic tank? Just moved and there is a banana tree growing over my tank. It makes me a little nervous. I am thinking I need to cut it down and remove the root balls. Your thoughts?”
We tell Jason plants should never be planted over a septic tank. They are programmed to find water and this could be problematic if the roots find the leach field.
