Love your show and the web site. However it seems that I am forced to sign up or subscribe every time I get a notice of something. I originally subscribed quite a while ago. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi, John,
Thanks for your question. We’ll be in touch via email to learn more about your concern.
Take care!
Hi John,
The subscribe box could be appearing for a couple of reasons… 1) if there’s an ad-blocker program running on your computer/browser, or 2) if you haven’t accepted the cookie policy of the site. Those things will prevent the form from recognizing that you’ve already subscribed. We’ve definitely got you on our newsletter list! Please note the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the box – you can close out of it anytime (no need to re-subscribe). We’ll continue to troubleshoot on our end!
I’m a novice (amateur) and I like to paint my interior room every few years and this information is very helpful as I’m usually having runners and drips stuff like that. My friend in Paso Robles CA just had new floors put in and I thought I’d surprise her and help her paint her house, her husband of 30 years passed in Oct. so we’re trying to get her out of the dump. So anyways thank you for the info it really helps
My wife and I have Oak bannisters in the house and want to stain them to a dark color. How do we go about doing this?
Thanks, Ted
Hi, Ted,
Staining the banisters is a great project to refresh your home.
In fact, that project was featured in our ‘From Landing to Living Space’ episode. You can watch how it came together here: https://www.todayshomeowner.com/video/transforming-a-landing-into-living-space/
Good luck!

Signed up for email and watched video on garage door refinish but still show 0 entries. You aren’t on in my market anymore so I try to keep up but this didn’t feel good at all.
Hi, Susan! Sorry to hear about difficulties with the giveaway form.
We’re receiving entries today, and we just completed three successful test entries, so the form is working for other users.
To enter, just refresh this page, click each option (to subscribe to the newsletter, to visit the YouTube page, and to subscribe to the podcast — you can choose just one, or all three) and it’s that easy.
If you’re still experiencing difficulties, please check to ensure you’re using the latest version of Google Chrome as a web browser. You can send screenshots of errors to webmaster@dannylipford.com and we’ll be happy to look at them.
Good luck. 🙂
Just saying…. the contest entry thing is not working…. which would be nice to have it work since us viewers in the West rarely win any contests for help on projects…. I tried email, went to FB page. FB page had no obvious way to enter, as noted by another FB comment today. Email took in the form but never acknowledged any submission nor was there a “submit” button to click.
