Everything here at the Kuppersmith Project house is pretty much complete. The decorators are inside right now, so I thought I’d do my part by adding a simple painted accent to a vase using FrogTape painter’s tape.

FrogTape has PaintBlock technology, so the tape gels on the edge when latex paint comes in contact with it to keep paint from seeping under the tape. Here’s how to go about adding a decorative stripe to a glass vase:

  • Apply strips of painter’s tape to the vase.
  • Press the tape down using a putty knife or 5-in-1 painter’s tool.
  • Apply a coat of latex paint to the glass between the strips of painter’s tape.
  • Carefully peel the FrogTape painter’s tape off while the paint is still wet.
  • Allow the vase to dry.

One of the things that makes FrogTape so cool is you don’t have to wait for the paint to dry to remove it. As soon as the paint has been applied, you can peel the tape right off. I’ve tried this with other painter’s tapes and it just doesn’t work very well for a nice, clean line.
