In Memory of Don Zeman

We regret the passing of Don Zeman, host of the nationally-syndicated radio show, “Homefront” who died at the age of 55 on December 31st. Over 10 years on the air, Don grew his show into the premier home improvement program on radio, reaching more than 3.2 million loyal listeners across the U.S. and Canada each week.

Danny and Don knew and respected each other as they traveled parallel roads in this industry – Don being the premier home improvement radio expert and Danny being the premier home improvement television expert. Due to this relationship, Danny has been asked to step in to help as host of “Homefront”.

On January 10th, he will join Rick Sellers in a live tribute show to Don. At that time, they will announce that Danny will “take up the tool belt” and continue on with the live show starting on January 17th. There will be more on this website about the show at that time.

  1. We are looking forward to hearing Danny on Homefront. My wife and I are loyal Homefront listeners and saw Don and Nancy Zeman at the Camp Courageous Pineapple Gala last August in Cedar Rapids. We are both saddened at Don’s passing but we are happy to know the show will go on with Danny. We have seen Danny on the Weather Channel and look forward hearing him weekly on Homefront.

  2. We are also looking forward to hearing Danny on Saturday mornings. We have to listen on the internet in Paris, IL but am hoping a station in the area might be convinced to carry it. Being Nancy’s sister, I am truly glad the show will continue.

  3. While we will greatly miss Don, his passion for helping people and the amazing way he hosted his show we at NewsTALK 1060AM WRHL Radio welcome Danny to the “Homefront” Radio family with open arms and ready ears.
If your hometown station does not carry “Homefront” Saturday mornings at 9 you can listen to WRHL online: http://www.WRHL.net
