We’ll explain Lennox Warranty coverage and what providers we think are the best home warranty companies. Then, you can compare quotes to find the right fit for your home.

Lennox Warranty Overview

When you buy a new Lennox appliance or system, it comes with a warranty. Your coverage will vary depending on the product.

Typically, the manufacturer’s warranty will cover repairs or replacements that occur due to manufacturing defects. It does not cover breakdowns or failures that occur from everyday wear and tear.

One of the benefits of Lennox’s basic warranties is you don’t have to register your product to get coverage. See popular Lennox products and their coverages below.

  • Dave Lennox Signature®Collection Series products: 10 years on covered components and compressor, 20 years or Limited Lifetime on heat exchanger
  • Lennox Elite® Series products: Five years on covered components: 10 years on compressor, 20 years or Limited Lifetime on heat exchanger
  • Lennox Merit® Series products: Five years on covered components and compressor, 20 years on heat exchanger
  • Healthy Climate® Indoor Air Quality Systems: Two or five years on covered components
  • Lennox® Comfort Controls/Thermostats/Zoning Systems: Two or five years on covered components
  • Lennox® Ductless Mini-Split Systems: Five years on covered components

Make sure you confirm the terms and conditions listed for your specific model, because not all models include all of the above. You can find your Lennox warranty and view your coverage online.

Lennox Extended Warranty Pros and Cons

Peace of mind knowing you have coverage for your heating and cooling unit
Replacement with the same Lennox product
Must conduct proper maintenance based on Lennox instructions or the warranty will be voided
May be asked to provide written documentation of annual and other periodic preventive maintenance
Must register the product to be covered
Must register your extended home warranty within 60 days of installation (except in California and Quebec)

Lennox Extended Limited Warranty

Extended warranties require registration within 60 days of installation. The Lennox 10-year Extended Limited Warranty essentially extends your coverage an extra five years. However, not all parts are covered under the plan, and those parts depend on the product.

With a Lennox extended warranty plan, you can expect the following:

  • Customers get increased coverage on parts from five to 10 years on select Lennox Elite® Series and Lennox Merit® Series products, including gas furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, coils, boilers, mini-splits and residential packaged units.
  • For heat exchangers, Lennox customers get a limited lifetime warranty for certain gas furnace models.
  • For mini-splits, Lennox customers get extended coverage on components, including five years on parts and seven years on compressors for up to a 12-year limited extended warranty.

Lennox home warranty doesn’t cover any systems that have been modified, improperly installed or damaged from broken water pipes or environmental factors.

Getting extra coverage is beneficial, but the Lennox warranty extended coverage does not include labor costs, and those can be extremely high — several thousands of dollars.

Comfort Shield Labor Warranty

If you want your Lennox warranty to last even longer, you can purchase a Comfort Shield Labor Warranty for three, five years, or 10 years on eligible products. However, not all components and parts are included, and in order to maintain coverage, you must perform routine maintenance.

Request the terms and conditions of the contract before you purchase one of these plans, so you know exactly what is covered and what is not.

Lennox Warranty Reviews

Lennox Industries Inc. has been in business for more than 125 years. It is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, which gives the company an A+ rating. Its products are high quality and long-lasting, but its warranties have been mentioned in many complaints. Here are some complaints and some Lennox customer reviews on BBB:

“The coil was under warranty, but I spent $706.03 out of pocket on labor.”

Anonymous

“A month after our five-year product warranty ended, we had to replace the evaporator coil for about $1,700.”

Anonymous

Though Lennox warranty products are praised among customers, the manufacturer’s warranty and Extended Limited Warranty aren’t as beneficial as home warranty protection plans, which cover repairs, replacements and labor costs.

One of the downfalls to Lennox extended warranties is that they don’t offer as wide of coverage as home warranty plans. Home warranty plans from home warranty providers offer significantly more than what manufacturers offer.

Home Warranties: A Smart Alternative To Manufacturer’s Warranties

For a minimal monthly premium, you can protect a long list of appliances and systems. Based on our research, home warranties cost between $30 and $120 per month. The best home warranty companies offer renewable, transferrable plans that come with 24/7 customer support and comprehensive coverage.

Home warranties, unlike homeowner’s insurance, offer comprehensive coverage on major home systems and appliances, such as refrigerators, water heaters, dishwashers, air conditioning systems and electrical systems. Home warranty providers repair or replace covered items that breakdown or fail due to everyday wear and tear.

Some plans cover systems or appliances, while others include both. Many of the best home warranty companies offer optional add-on coverage for less common items.

A home warranty plan is a great option for homeowners. Your systems and appliances should outlast your manufacturer’s warranty and when that happens, you want to be protected. American Home Shield covers HVAC systems, as well as a number of other Lennox items.

American Home Shield has been accredited and earned accreditation and a B rating on the BBB. Here’s what some customers posted on BBB:

Home Warranty Rating Methodology

To help you find the best home warranty, our reviews team researched numerous home warranty companies, analyzing their coverage plans, pricing and customer service, among other factors:

  • Coverage: Home warranty companies that provide extensive coverage and protect important systems and appliances, including your air conditioning, refrigerator and heating, scored higher than companies with minimal coverage.
  • Plan variety: A provider with more coverage plans allows for more flexibility among customers. In general, most home warranty companies provide an appliances-only plan, systems-only plan and combination plan.
  • Pricing: We scored providers based on their monthly plan prices and service call fees compared to the industry average pricing. Companies with more affordable coverage received more points than companies with more expensive plans.
  • State availability: Where you live will determine what companies are available in your area. Home warranty companies that covered more states received more points than companies with a limited state availability.
  • Trustworthiness: There are some home warranty companies that are scams and don’t follow through on their service agreements. We rated companies based on their years of experience, ratings on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and customer reviews.

To keep our data current, our team regularly updates the data points for each company to ensure their coverage offerings, pricing and availability are accurate.
