Natural disasters occur regularly throughout the world, often taking everything in their path with them. Although no one wants to experience these events, it’s important to document the possessions in your home and protect your assets in case of an emergency.

Start by taking a series of pictures and photos of all of the items in your home. This will help you create an inventory list that can benefit you during insurance claims. Store the footage and list in an off-site location to make sure that if the house is destroyed the evidence of what you have will remain. With so many things going digital, this shouldn’t be a difficult task.

Once the disaster is over, document any damage as well as temporary repairs that you make so you can include them in your insurance claim. Watch this video to find out more.
