Homeowners have a lot to be excited about — your home affords you a lot of fun times, great memories with family and friends, and the opportunity to express yourself through comfort and design.

There’s only one hitch in all the fun. The cost of owning a home can be overwhelming, especially when you take into account the breakdown of major systems and appliances that always seem to happen at the worst time.

These types of breakdowns aren’t covered by your insurance policy, but they can be covered by a home warranty. These exist to cover the cost of repair and replacement for major systems and appliances for homeowners looking for peace of mind.

In This Article:

Today’s Homeowner works with an independent reviews team to create evidence-based research that helps our readers make informed decisions. The reviews are always independent. For transparency, we may be compensated if you purchase through a link.

Here at Today’s Homeowner, we’re reviewing Global Home USA. We hold the research team to the highest standards, and have reviewed many providers based on criteria like customer reviews, plan diversity, pricing, availability, service agreement transparency and more.

We’ve selected American Home Shield as the best home warranty provider in this Global Home Warranty Review.

Global Home USA Reviews

We took a look at Global Home Warranty reviews across a few sites and found it listed with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), where it is accredited with an A+ Rating. The company has accumulated an average of two-star customer reviews and 27 customer complaints.

“They cover almost nothing in each mechanical/electrical system. It’s misleading to have a home warranty where portions of systems (built-in ice dispenser in the fridge) are not covered because ‘the refrigerator can still operate without it.’ Not worth the money the contract is written on.”

-Andy G, 1 Star, BBB

“…Less than one month after we provided all the documentation of the completed work, we received a check from Global Home USA for over $2,600, the full replacement cost minus $75 deductible for each claim. Global’s Customer Service reps were always polite and patient with me on every telephone call, and they were very efficient. When I emailed them the documents, I had a rep on the line and she could see them immediately. My experience was first class – excellent! Thank you, Global Home USA. You’ve changed my opinion about home warranties.”

-Jerry E, 5 Star, BBB

Home Warranty Rating Methodology

To help you find the best home warranty, our reviews team researched numerous home warranty companies, analyzing their coverage plans, pricing and customer service, among other factors:

  • Coverage: Home warranty companies that provide extensive coverage and protect important systems and appliances, including your air conditioning, refrigerator and heating, scored higher than companies with minimal coverage.
  • Plan variety: A provider with more coverage plans allows for more flexibility among customers. In general, most home warranty companies provide an appliances-only plan, systems-only plan and combination plan.
  • Pricing: We scored providers based on their monthly plan prices and service call fees compared to the industry average pricing. Companies with more affordable coverage received more points than companies with more expensive plans.
  • State availability: Where you live will determine what companies are available in your area. Home warranty companies that covered more states received more points than companies with a limited state availability.
  • Trustworthiness: There are some home warranty companies that are scams and don’t follow through on their service agreements. We rated companies based on their years of experience, ratings on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and customer reviews.

To keep our data current, our team regularly updates the data points for each company to ensure their coverage offerings, pricing and availability are accurate.
