Freedom Home Warranty Overview
First launched in 2017 and originally known as America’s Choice Home Warranty, Freedom Home Warranty strived to add the element of flexibility across every facet of its service. Unlike its competitors, the company enabled customers to work with their own contractors. Also, a portion of each home warranty purchase goes to a charity of your choice.
Freedom Home Warranty plans were available in just a few states, including Tennessee, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Minnesota, Hawaii, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
Freedom Home Warranty Plans
Freedom Home Warranty offered three types of coverage packages: Patriot Protection, Liberty Protection and Freedom Protection. The plans were available for a 12-month period, but if you were to purchase a two-year plan, a 25% off discount would be applied to the second year’s premium.
- Patriot Protection provided coverage for a combination of over 25 critical systems and appliances, including a few novelty additions not covered in many plans. They included conduit, recirculating pump, junction boxes and Whirlpool motor and pump assembly.
- Liberty Protection covered everything under Patriot Production, plus common items such as refrigerators, ice makers and faucets.
- Freedom Protection offered comprehensive protection for more than 45 home systems and appliances.

Freedom Home Warranty Costs
The cost of a Freedom Home Warranty contract ranged from $295 to $895 based on the property, plan type and whether it included any add-ons.
Freedom Home Warranty had a plan called Eagle Protection that could be applied to any of the three plans to receive a 25% discount off the second year price. With Eagle Protection, for a two-year contract, customers saved anywhere from $123.75 to $223.75.
Customers could either pay in full or make monthly payments through a debit or credit card. Monthly payments were subjected to a $5 processing fee. This means, with the monthly payment method, you would pay an extra $60 per year.
Freedom Home Warranty charged a $65 service fee per claim, which is $10 lower than the average industry rate of $75. Contracts could be canceled within 30 days of initial acceptance for free, but after that, there was a $35 cancellation fee.
Freedom Home Warranty Coverage Caps

Quotes and Claims with Freedom Home Warranty
Since Freedom Home Warranty is no longer in business, the company will not provide a quote for coverage.
The company’s new owner, Old Republic Home Protection is now handling any claims from Freedom Home Warranty customers. If you submitted a claim through Freedom Home Warranty, ORHP requests that you do not file the claim again as they work through the backlog.
ORHP promises that customers will be reimbursed for covered services under Freedom Home Warranty’s terms and conditions.

Freedom Home Warranty Reviews
Freedom Home Warranty reviews showed a mix of both positive and negative feedback before it closed. Old Republic Home Protection has low-to-average customer ratings but an A+ and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. There are more than 600 BBB customer complaints, but ORHP responds to many of them.

I go online and report the problem, and I hear back very quickly on who will be calling to schedule an appointment. Each company has responded promptly and have been able to resolve our issue.
