How to Position Small Objects for Gluing

When repairing small, irregular objects, it can be hard to clamp them while gluing. To solve this problem, apply glue to the parts, then mold modeling clay around the pieces, and use it to hold the pieces securely in place until the glue sets.

  1. Danny thank for the great article explaining different glues. My project is to hang a towel ring onto a wall that is wallpapered…no shower or bath just a sink is in the bathroom. The wall has a hole because the Sheetrock just broke apart so I thought perhaps if I use epoxy glue this ring will hide the hole plus be permanently glued to the wall. I tried different toggles but the area just is to weak. It is also a hollow wall so the toggles just keep falling in. I was hoping epoxy would work Thank you for help..

  2. I bought a clear vinyl plastic (extra long shower curtain liner) It was a little too long. I cut off about 4inches off the bottom. The magnets are in the piece I cut off, encapsulated in the same plastic. I cut them out in the plastic strip. Still in plastic .Now ,I want to glue them back to the shortened curtain, what is the proper adhesive to use,
    for vinyl to vinyl?
    Thanking you in advance,
    Janine Lew
