Danny Lipford: People often tell me that they’re intimidated by using a water pump. I guess it’s just something that they’ve never really used before. But the truth is a water pump is a very handy tool when you have to move a lot of water, and Generac’s line of water pumps—so easy to use.

The Easy Prime funnel lets you prime the pump quickly, without the challenges of other pumps. The priming cap is tethered to the pump, so you don’t accidentally leave the cap behind.

The suction and discharge ports are color coded. Blue is discharge, and green is suction. So you never have to worry about connecting the hose in the wrong spot.

If you need help operating the pump, the on-board instructions are always right here at our fingertips.

Choosing the right water pump will depend on the condition of the water, and the amount of water you need to pump.

If you’re pumping standing water on the outside, you need one that can handle a little dirt. Generac’s two-inch Semi-Trash Water Pump is specifically designed to pump sandy and muddy water. And it’s great for those tough jobs, like pumping water out of a field, a pond, or your yard.

The 208cc engine pumps up to 150 gallons per minute. And, the three gallon steel fuel tank provides up to five hours of operation. You don’t have to guess how much fuel is left with this incorporated fuel gauge.

I like the low-oil shutdown feature, that helps protect the engine from damage. And, also, I like this one-inch sturdy frame that surrounds it to protect it from the rugged use it’s bound to get.

It’s also very easy to transport. The wheels will allow you to cover any of the rough ground. And you can tilt up the handle and you’re able to move the pump around very, very easily; and then it folds back out of the way when not in use.

The two-inch Semi-Trash Water Pump comes with a 12-foot suction hose and a strainer to keep debris out of the pump, as well as a 25-foot discharge hose.

If you’re pumping clean water—like a swimming pool, hot tub, or water garden—the Generac one-point-five-inch Clean Water Pump is just what you need.

This little guy delivers compact pumping power, with a 79cc OHV engine pumping up to 80 gallons per minute.

It’s very easy to use, very compact, and lightweight. And it’s durable, with a high pressure, carbon ceramic mechanical seal protecting the engine, this pump will last for many years.

The one-point-five-inch Clean Water Pump includes a 25-foot discharge hose as well as a 10-foot suction hose and strainer.

Whether your job is big or small, clean or dirty, Generac has a water pump that’s up to the task and very easy to use. Nothing to be afraid of.
