I want to raise a Pennsylvania stone walkway and I’m not sure the best way to do it. I’d like it to continue to be rustic and still have space between each stone so I can plant creeping herbs between.

Every year I have the best lawn on the block, then by August it’s full of dead areas and disease. The lawn is mostly fescue. The company that does my treatments says I’m mowing too high at 4-5 inches and says take it down to around 3. Could mowing too high be my problem?
