Moving can be both overwhelming and stressful between packing and minor home improvements you may need to do. We caught up with our friend Danny Watson to provide our viewers with some products to make moving a little easier.
Planning and being prepared before starting your move is crucial. Making a list of all the materials you need will help tremendously — Home Depot has a variety of products to help movers gather everything they need in one trip. From moving boxes, packing paper, stretch wrap, glass and dish moving kits, bubble wrap and packing tape.
In fact, cleaning up is just as important when moving. No matter how clean you are, you’d be surprised how much cleaning you need to do when moving furniture or packing up old items. Method’s All-Purpose Natural Surface Cleaner along with Rejuvenate’s Click n Clean Multi-Surface Spray Mop will leave your home looking and smelling fantastic.
The Home Depot’s Moving Hub is another great tool to utilize before your move. It helps you plan how many boxes you need based on the size of your kitchen, bathroom, etc. There are a lot of other tools — maybe even some things you wouldn’t normally think of — to help make your move easy!
It’s a great time to head out to The Home Depot to make your move a little less stressful!
Around the Yard – Killing Weeds without Chemicals
This time of year, many of us find ourselves battling weeds. No matter how diligent you are as a gardener …. you’re going to have to deal with them from time to time. It’s inevitable.
If the idea of using chemical herbicides doesn’t appeal to you and there are just too many to pull up by hand…. you might want to try some of these natural options to kill the weeds and keep them from coming back.
In flower beds, mulch can be your friend. However, mulch alone doesn’t always block enough sun to keep the weeds from growing. So, before you mulch, put down a layer of newspaper, cardboard, or landscape fabric over the soil to starve the weeds of light. That plan won’t work for weeds that pop up through sidewalks, patios, and driveways, so instead, try mixing up a natural weed killer.
Fill a spray bottle with white distilled vinegar and top it off with a little dish soap. When you shake it up and spray it on the weeds, the soap will cause the vinegar to stick to the leaves.
Because vinegar is a natural acid it will begin burning the plant… usually leaving it brown and withered by the end of the day. You can use this formula on weeds in the lawn too, but be sure to spray carefully, because this solution can have the same effect on the grass as it does the weeds.
