TrafficMaster 3-in-1 Floor Underlayment

When laying new flooring, the underlayment is just as important as the flooring itself. TrafficMaster’s 3-in-1 floor underlayment is ideal for laminate and engineered wood floors. It can be used on grade or below grade and its reflective film barrier enhances floor thermal and moisture properties.

This underlayment is easy to install. Just lay flat and join together with an adhesive strip.

It is available at The Home Depot.

  1. Home Depot is advertisizing Traffic Master Acoustical Underlayment for $49.95 A SQUARE FOOT…WHAT??? I hope that is a typo.

  2. I accidentally put the trafficmaster 3 in 1 wrong way, with the foil facing up instead of down , so I wanted to know if it’s okay to leave it like this or do I have to rework it so that the foil is facing down?

  3. I STRONGLY SUGGEST you have MORE info on your expensive underlayment. I purchased trafficMaster underlayment and the instructions ARE WEAK!! I unrolled TWO rolls and NO WHERE was any info on which side to put down!!! I will not suggest this brand to ANYONE!!

    • Hi, Barbie. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this product.
Please note that we don’t sell this product; we just featured it in this article.
We encourage you to direct product feedback to TrafficMaster.
      Take care!

  4. Not a premium product. No manufacturer installation instructions. Most 3 in 1 underlayments are foil up, but this one is rolled out with foil down. Is that an oversite when they rolled up this material or is that their intention? Who knows. Instructions unclear and no support number. A premium product is worthless if installed incorrectly, and actually a net loss if it needs to be corrected later. Not what I’d call a “best new product”.

  5. I’m attaching a link to a clear picture of how to install this product. There really are no other instructions but I’m going by the picture shown of a sub floor, the 3-in 1 , and the flooring on top. Shows foil down with film extension (and attached glue strip up). In my case I’m using vinyl plank flooring with no pre-attached backing.
    Cheers to all!
