A wood burning fireplace and its chimney should be inspected every year to ensure that it operates safely. A professional inspector will inspect the outside of the chimney and the firebox itself to make sure that they are structurally sound. They will also inspect the inside of the chimney flue to see if there are any blockages or a build-up of creosote, both of which are extremely dangerous.
on your recent episode at the Bailey’s house, you had the chimney cleaned by a professional. I was wanting to know what company you used. I need to have mine inspected at some point.
Thank you for your assistance. I always enjoy your show.
I have a prefab unit that was woodburning in my home but want to really change it over to a propane one since that is all that is available here .The reason for wanting to change it out is because when the heat goes out in the winter we need something to keep us at least a little warm .We are retired and moved to VA and hubby has heart problems and I don’t need him getting sick .Which units are best sealed or unsealed for the best heat .Can we add a blower to help with the heat .
