Security

Peace of mind for you and your family’s safety is priceless; however, a secure property can really amp up your home’s value. A safe property where your home and possessions are protected from theft and unwanted visitors ranks pretty high on most people’s “must have” lists. And it’s certainly clear why. Everyone wants to feel safe in their homes which is why a property that is protected by a privacy or security fence will have more value since potential loss or damage by theft is greatly reduced. Moreover, there are now so many options to make your fence extra secure such as automatic gates that only open with a remote or code or hundreds of different kinds of materials to make sure it fits your home’s aesthetic.

Curb Appeal

As mentioned above, a fence can complement a home in ways not many other fixtures can. It is the first thing you see when you approach your home after all so it’s important that it matches the overall design of your home. Wood, stone, wrought iron, hedges, trees, or combinations of each can add privacy and a great deal of flair. As long as it’s thoughtfully and professionally installed there is no question that a distinctive and practical addition like this would add value to your home.

Property Lines

If you’re a homeowner you’ve had to figure out where your property lines are. If you’re lucky, a fence may have already outlined them for you! If your property did not have a fence when you bought it you may have had to obtain the official plot from the city or hire a professional to come out and determine the legal boundaries. Real estate with a clear and concise title, history, and documentation is the most desirable for buyers, sellers, and real estate agents alike. Sometimes value isn’t just a dollar amount. Time and ease are valuable too and when you’re in the middle of a real estate transaction.

Privacy

A fence can provide privacy if you live in an area where privacy is scarce. Perhaps you live on a highly trafficked street, in the middle of a bustling metropolis, or you just have a pesky neighbor- privacy is a must. Just think of the expansive homes in the Hollywood Hills or Bel-Air. They all have privacy fences, sometimes taller than the houses because nothing is worse than being surrounded by the city all day just to get home and not be able to escape it! The peace of mind you have knowing that your private life stays private is one of the best reasons to install a private fence. As long as it complements the house and design it will undoubtedly add value to your home.

Safety Purposes

If you have small children or pets a fence can allow you to open up your doors without fear. Having a fence essentially makes your front and back yard another room of your house. Clear and safe boundaries for kids and pets allows you to enjoy summertime on the lawn or an occasional backyard camping night without fear of anyone wandering out onto the street. Furthermore, if you live in a rural area a privacy fence can keep things out. Deer, rabbits, and other wildlife can wreak havoc on your landscaping so a fence may be essential to not only add to but maintain your home’s value.
