The next time you get your power bill, look at it closely, and see if there is a green energy option listed. This option means your utility company buys renewable energy generated by wind or solar, and then passes it along to you. It does cost a little bit more, but not much, and it really helps to support clean, green power.
You can search for these companies through a website created by the U.S. Department of Energy. You can even find out what the source of the renewable power is in your area along with the rates. Just type “green power network” in your favorite search engine to find out if one is in your area.
