5. Clean the Tray Under the Fridge

The bad odor coming from the tray under the refrigerator is a sign of mold contamination. Do not let it degrade indoor air. Cleaning under the refrigerator is easy with bleach solution and salt!

Use bleach solution before sprinkling salt on the tray. Bleach disinfects and salt reduces bacteria and mold growth. Schedule the cleaning, and stick with it, to prevent food from being trapped and later becoming a habitat for mold spores blown into the air each time the compressor kicks in.

If you don’t clean under the refrigerator, mold will collect and contaminate not only the air but also food you store in your fridge.
