Finish It Up

Just these three simple changes can make a big difference, but if you want a finished look, here are more tips:

Woman pressure washes a home's exterior
Pressure wash your home regularly to keep it looking as good as new.

Pressure wash. When was the last time you washed your home’s exterior? (If you can’t remember, that’s too long ago.) Pressure wash the exterior and remove any moss, mold, mildew or algae.

Overgrown trees are an eyesore and lead to rot if too close to facia boards and siding.

Trim trees and hedges. Nothing adds curb appeal like plants, but nothing also can diminish a home’s appearance like overgrown vegetation. Make trimming and shaping bushes a routine to keep your home well maintained.

Mulch borders a flower bed in front of a brick house
Define gardening spaces with mulch to make your home look neat and organized.

Mulch flower beds. You can control weeds, enrich soil, retain moisture and add visual appeal with just one addition: mulch. Pine straw, hay and wood chips are some popular options that add order and texture to your garden.

House numbers
Make sure your home’s numbers match your home’s style.

Hang new house numbers. Just because a home’s address is forever doesn’t mean the same has to be true for the numbers! Whether you want 2- or 24-inch-tall house numbers; whether you have a minimalist style or want to make a bold statement, there’s something for everyone at the home center. So, take pride in your home and add some new numbers!
